Cuts the bill
You stop buying back at night what you gave away at noon. Most homes we fit land between $1,200 and $2,000 a year.

Fitted in one visit, both rebates already off the price. Add the three free hours of power every retailer now has to offer and it is quicker again. Owner-operated, licensed, and the bloke who quotes it is the bloke who installs it.

Your tariff, per kilowatt hour
Federal battery rebate — legislated step-down
The Cheaper Home Batteries Program pays $251.60 per kWh on the first 14 kWh until 31 December 2026, then drops to about $211. On our 19.2 kWh system that's $4,365 now versus $3,661 in January. Queensland has no state top-up.
Why a battery, plainly
You stop buying back at night what you gave away at noon. Most homes we fit land between $1,200 and $2,000 a year.
Whole-of-home blackout backup, not just a couple of powerpoints. Storms here take days to fix, not hours.
$251.60/kWh on the first 14 kWh until 31 December, then it steps down every six months until the program ends in 2030.
Charge off your own roof, ride out the evening peak, and stop caring what the retailer does with time-of-use pricing.
The system we fit most
One inverter, four battery modules, and a switchboard that keeps running when the street goes dark. We fit the same gear on our own house.
Rebate already deducted
13–13.2 kW solar + 20.4 kWh battery — supplied and installed, 2-day install
or about $72/week — interest-free over 72 months
6.6 kW solar, supplied and installed
or about $21/week interest-free
⏳ From 1 January the rebate drops — the same battery costs about $704 more.
Get a fixed priceSolar and a battery fitted together is the fastest payback we quote; a retrofit onto panels you already own costs less up front but takes longer to come back. Interest-free finance via Humm, 12–72 months, up to $50,000, subject to approval. Weekly figures are indicative — your fixed quote is the number that counts.
Both ways in
Doing the lot at once is the quickest payback we quote — one visit, one inverter, one application. Retrofitting onto panels you already own costs less up front but takes longer to come back. Both are fixed prices with the federal rebate already deducted.

Recent work
Everything else we do
New systems, battery retrofits to existing solar, system upgrades, commissioning and fault-finding. SolaX is our standard fit; we also do Deye, GoodWe and Sigenergy.
Rewires, switchboard and safety switch upgrades, lighting, powerpoints, ceiling fans, smart home and smart lighting retrofits.
Shed wiring and sub-mains, new build rough-in and fit-off, granny flats, workshops and three-phase supply.
Home and workplace charger supply and installation, load management so you're not tripping the main.
Office fit-outs, LED upgrades, instrumentation, PLC and SCADA work, commercial solar with a proper ROI on paper first.
Power out, board tripping, something burnt. You get the electrician who'll be doing the work, not a call centre.
How it runs
We ask what you're paying, what you export and what you want backed up. If a battery won't pay for itself at your place, we'll tell you.
Switchboard, meter, inverter and a roof shot from your phone, plus your last bill. Send it before lunch and you will have an indicative number that afternoon — next morning if it comes in late.
Every house is different. We check the board, the roof and the cable run in person before we put a firm number on it — so the quote is the price.
Fixed quote in writing with the rebate already off. Accept it and we book you into a named install week and order your gear.
Where we work
BD NRG is based in Valdora, in the Maroochy River valley. When something needs looking at, you get the bloke who installed it — not a call centre in another state and a subcontractor three weeks out.
Noosa to Caloundra and the hinterland behind it. Not on the list? Ring us anyway.
Straight answers
No. We claim the federal rebate on your behalf and it comes off the quoted price before you pay anything. The number you see is the number you pay.
Almost always. A retrofit sits alongside your existing system and costs less up front than starting over. It does take longer to pay for itself than fitting the panels and battery together — around seven to nine years against about four — so we show you both numbers and let you pick. We'll check your inverter and switchboard from photos before we price it.
The rebate drops from $251.60 to roughly $211 per kWh, then steps down again each 1 January and 1 July until the program ends in 2030. On a 19.2 kWh system that first step is about $704 out of your pocket.
Not currently. The state Battery Booster program closed in 2024, so the federal scheme is the only rebate running.
