Solar prices, published.

Published prices, not estimates. This is what a standard install costs with the STC rebate already off — we claim it, you never front it and wait.

And we come and look before we hold you to one. Every place is different, and a number off a satellite photo is how a quote turns into an argument on install day.

What it costs

Supplied, installed, STCs already off

Most places stop publishing at 10 kW. These run to 20 kW, and the price per kilowatt keeps falling as the system grows — because the truck roll, the paperwork and the switchboard work cost the same whatever size goes on the roof.

Battery-ready fits a SolaX hybrid instead of a standard inverter. A standard one cannot run a battery — add one later and it gets replaced, so you buy the inverter twice and pay for a second day to swap it. Go battery-ready and it stays where it is. What that saves you depends on the rebate when you add the battery, and the rebate steps down every six months — so sooner is always cheaper. Never going to add one? Don’t pay it. Plenty of people won’t, and we will ask what you are planning before we quote either way.

Included

What the price covers

  • Tier-1 panels and a SolaX inverter, supplied and installed
  • Mounting rail, DC cable, isolators and switchboard work
  • STCs claimed by us and already off the price you see
  • Energex application and grid connection lodged for you
  • Full commissioning, app set up before we leave
  • Certificate of electrical safety on completion

Not included

What gets quoted separately

  • Switchboard upgrades where the board is full or pre-1990
  • Three-phase supply where you do not already have it
  • Tile roofs, two-storey scaffolding or asbestos
  • Long cable runs and non-standard roof structures

We look before we quote and tell you if any of these apply — never after.

Sizing it honestly

Bigger isn’t always better, and here’s where it stops

A panel only earns its keep if you use what it makes. Past a certain size on a normal single-phase house, extra panels stop paying — and nobody selling you a system on commission will mention it.

Single phase exports at 5 kW, maximum. Energex allow 10 kVA per phase, and export is capped at 5 kW. So on a big array, everything above that cap at midday has nowhere to go — you cannot sell it and you cannot store it.

About 13 kW is the practical single-phase ceiling on a standard string inverter. Past that you are into three-phase, which most houses don’t have and which isn’t cheap to bring in.

Which is the honest case for storage. Put 13 kW on a single-phase roof and a battery stops being an upsell — it is the only way the panels above the export cap earn anything at all. That is arithmetic, not a sales pitch.

The bit you’ll actually use

You’ll know where every kilowatt-hour goes

You do not need a battery for this. Every system we fit gets CT clamps on your mains and SolaXCloud set up on your phone before we leave — solar-only included.

Consumption monitoring needs a meter or CT on the mains — it is a small part, and we fit it as standard rather than selling it back to you later.

We size it against twelve months of what you actually used — not an average, and not the biggest system that fits on the roof. If a smaller one pays back faster, that is what we will quote.
